Why am I dreaming awake?

When I see things, I am fully aware that I am awake. There is a recurrence of inanimate objects floating above me. These objects are always floating above my face and I know that I am waking up because I see my actual physical surroundings and the dream-object. So far I have seen a chandelier, a bowl of lilacs, a microphone, a white sheet ( I actually heard the sheet moving), and a green glowing ball. This has been happening sporadically for the last 5 years.
When it first started happening, I would feel suffocated but since it occurs so often, I don’t feel anything but a trance. I used to be afraid but now I’m not. I wonder why it’s such odd objects, insignificant to my life

Other than that you can be hallucinating or so…
Damn I wish I could daydream like that. I know you might not be daydreaming lol.
Things like that unsually happen during the hypnogogic state of sleep.
